Petrolera Argentina S.A. was born in mid 2001 with the intention to bring in innovation and solutions to the oil refining sector. This principle has made it possible for the company to set its name apart in the market, not only for its growing pace of activity but also for being an all-local capital firm in a market dominated by multinationals.
From the very beginning, the company proposed a new way of doing business and has had the conviction of doing it in the country of its founders. For these reason it made the decision of industrializing all its products where they are originated to supply for the requirements of the local and regional markets in good time and way and with the hightest standards of quality in both manufacture and logistics.
Its initiative was always guided by a vocation to innovate in the offer of products and services. Opposite to what was happening in Argentina at that time, Petrolera Argentina S.A. supported its actions with investment, the development of new products, confidence in the mid and long term perspectives and the certainty of individual and collective growth.

ENERGY FOR EVERYBODY'S DEVELOPMENT

From its plant located in Parque Petroquímico Industrial de Plaza Huincul (Plaza Huincul’s Petrochemical Industrial Area), the company consolidated its foundations and started to strengthen its position by creating a larger, more competitive, dynamic and –once again- committed to the context, petrochemical and energy group.

This new expansion phase naturally resulted from the fact that Petrolera Argentina S.A. –in its brief but hectic history- discovered that together with a natural demand in the refined sector there was a large untapped market and potential business in related products.
It is in this context that in recent years Petrolera Argentina S.A.has taken over new companies. 2007 was a key year with the acquisition of Refinadora Neuquina S.A., Maikop S.A. and Umber S.A. The former, devoted to the production of turpentine while Maikop is in charge of the processes of hydrotreatment, reformulation and isomerization of naphta.
The development of the company in terms of production, client portfolio and investment is a clear indication of its constant concern for the generation of value added business.

This young Oil Company is now, once again, determined to be the protagonist of its future. Despite the pitfalls of yet another crisis –this time global and indeed of historical magnitude- Petrolera Argentina S.A. can display an important investment portfolio under way or at consideration phase, noticeable increase in its production levels, enhancement of all its processes and a growing client portfolio.
These advantages highlight its qualities in a market of vital strategic global and regional importance, where efficiency is key to continuity. And where values such as determination to overcome difficulties, concern for quality, social commitment and corporate responsibility do make a difference.


The company decided to industrialize all products just where they are produced so as to efficiently cater for local demand.
