Petrolera Argentina’s main plant is located in Parque Industrial Petroquímico de Plaza Huincul, in the Argentine province of Neuquén. The processing capacity of the plant today is 18,000 m3 of crude oil per month, which in the coming opening will grow to 27,000 m3 and will reach 42,000 in october 2010. Petrolera Argentina S.A. also has a nearby butane and propane plant.
The plant is equipped with cutting edge technology applied to processes, monitoring, safety and environment quality certifications. But its heart –as happens with all the other plants that conform the Group led by Petrolera Argentina- is with the engineers, technicians and highly skilled workers that monitor -around the clock and 365 days a year- the processes that result in well known quality products.
WHERE TO GO...

The Petrolera Argentina plant started operating with a crude oil load capacity of 300m3 per day. A year later its capacity had grown to 500m3/day.
Keeping pace with its growing strength in the market, load volume increased steadily to reach 600 m3/day. As a consequence of the investment plan launched this year, today our production is 900m3 and will shortly expand to 1,400 m3/day, which will make it possible to supply RENESA with 1,050 m3/day of raw gasoline. Hard and serious work were necessary to reach this level of progress of the energy business.
Petrolera Argentina S.A. has a storing capacity of 16,000 m3 and RENESA has now 7,500 m3 and an enlarging project of 5,000 extra m3. It also has storing infrastructure at the Zárate port with storing tanks of 11,000m3 where to store exportable loads.

In November 2007, Petrolera Argentina S.A. moved towards its consolidation as a supplier of the area and the Southern Cone. It acquired all the stocks of Maikop, a company liquidated several years before.
Maikop’s reactors turned on again in 2008, once again with the objective to supply local producers with locally made products. Among the first production processes resumed by the plant were the packaging of turpentine and the purification of glicerine, necessary in the near future for the production of biofuel. Some regional rules enforce the incorporation of a proportion of 5% of biofuels with gasolines as of January 1st, 2010.
Also in 2007 another important investment took place: the acquisition of the stocks of Refinadora Neuquina S.A. With this new addition, Petrolera Argentina S.A. expanded its activities towards the treatment, reformulating and isomerization of gasolines, giving continuity and adding value to the refining process as well as developing different products from primary distillation.
